OMSI is hosting it’s communication fellows program on campus early next year. There will be an information session this Thursday, LPSC 402, noon.
OSU College of Science and University Outreach and Engagement are pleased to announce that OSU will host a cohort of the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) Science Communication Fellowship program, primarily held on campus this coming spring.
The Science Communication Fellowship program seeks to build the capacity of OSU affiliated graduate students, faculty, personnel, and post-docs to engage public audiences with OSU research. The training workshops cover science communication best practices and provide opportunities for participants to practice new skills and techniques. Through the program, each Fellow will develop a unique hands-on educational activity designed to communicate their research to public audiences.
Participation in the Fellowship program is an excellent way to fulfill Broader Impact and outreach goals for grant-funded research underway at OSU. OMSI is happy to provide program details and a description of public impacts for grant reporting.
We will be hosting an information session this Thursday, November 12 from 12:00-1:00pm in LPSC 402. Please come meet some current OSU OMSI Science Communication Fellows and learn more about the program.
For more information, please see the attached flyer. Further information regarding program tuition and scholarship opportunities, and the online application are posted on the OMSI website. Applications are due Monday, December 7.
