Lens of the Market Stage 2

Lens of the Market Stage 2: Innovation2Market provides science and engineering researchers with proven tools, skills, processes and templates to define specific applications of their research for specific markets, to conduct effective market gap analysis, and to define technical feasibility and a go-forward R&D plan to deliver market needs. The result is a prioritized set application/market pairs aligned with "star" markets – markets that are demonstrated to be able maximize reward and minimize risk for commercial success.

Three teams of students and postdocs from the Center for Sustainable Materials Chemistry (CSMC) began LoM Stage 2 in March and began investigating specific application/market pairs based on their platform research. On May 19 the teams will reconvene to present their initial data - value propositions, value chains, assumptions and market prioritization - for each of these application/market pairs. Based on this information each team will decide which application/market pair that they will conduct a detailed market analysis on during the latter half of LoM Stage 2 (scheduled to end Sept 16).
