The National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) was incorporated in 1975 to assist people of color with their academic, professional and entrepreneurial pursuits in chemistry, chemical engineering and related fields.

An Oregon NOBCChE Chapter was established in the Oregon University System in collaboration with the Master’s Industrial Internship Program and the CSMC participants. CSMC graduate students Maisha Kamunde-Devonish, Matti Alemayehu, and Milton Jackson Jr. currently serve the chapter in leadership roles.
