The Student Council for Innovation (SCI)

What is SCI?

The Student Council on Innovation (SCI) is a group of graduate students and postdocs in the CSMC committed to furthering the Center’s innovation goals. Our mission is to help build a bridge between academia, CSMC research, and industry. 

CSMC Innovation Strategic Goal

“Our overarching strategic goal in innovation is to translate breakthroughs in sustainable materials chemistry into technological applications. We provide best-in-class performances and sustainable manufacturing advantages to companies that manufacture materials and devices for electronics and energy markets.”


The CSMC offers three webinars a year to the broader academic, governmental and industrial community. All webinars are recorded and archived at:

Responsible Conduct of Research

"The Director shall require that each institution that applies for financial assistance from the Foundation for science and engineering research or education describe in its grant proposal a plan to provide appropriate training and oversight in the responsible and ethical conduct of research to undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers participating in the proposed research project."
